Russian soldiers invaded a Catholic seminary in the Kyiv region, destroyed an image of Our Lady of Fatima, and looted some liturgical objects
Newsroom (16/04/2022 14:30, Gaudium Press) According to the Bishop of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr diocese, Bishop Vitaliy Kryvytskyi, Russian soldiers invaded and desecrated a seminary in Ukraine, reported.
Russian soldiers stormed the Roman Catholic theological seminary in Vorzel in the Kyiv region last Saturday, April 9. Some parts of the seminary were damaged by explosions, but no one was injured.
Bishop Vitaliy Kryvytskyi reported that the military ransacked the seminary taking everything they thought was valuable.
The Bishop said that the soldiers opened the gates of the seminary and stole equipment and objects from the premises: washing machines, computers, and kitchen equipment.
Then they also looted some liturgical objects among which a chalice was used and offered by Pope Saint John Paul II during his apostolic visit to Ukraine in 2001.
The Russian invaders also destroyed some religious images, among which an image of Our Lady of Fatima. (FM)
