United States – Los Angeles (02/08/2022 13:10, Gaudium Press) The relics of Saint Bernadette Soubirous, the seer of Our Lady of Lourdes, began this week the last stage of their pilgrimage through the United States, visiting Los Angeles. In September the relics will travel to the United Kingdom.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Tarbes and Lourdes, Monsignor Jean-Marc Micas, travelled to the North American country, to accompany the conclusion of this visit of the relics of the French Saint, which will pilgrimage to Los Angeles between July 31 and August 4. This was the first visit of the relics to the United States.

Program for the coming days
The French prelate was received by Archbishop Jose Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles and President of the U.S. Bishops’ Conference. On Monday, August 1, a Holy Mass in the Sainte-Bernadette Church was celebrated by the two Bishops.

Today, the rector of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Bishop Antonio Cacciapuoti, celebrated Holy Mass in the temple at 12:10 pm (local time). On August 3, a Eucharistic celebration presided by Bishop Micas is scheduled, followed by adoration and benediction of the sick.
Balance of this pilgrimage of the relics to the United States
During the past four months of the relics in the United States, 28 dioceses and 40 parishes were visited. More than 16 thousand kilometres were travelled in the country, more than 250 thousand devotees had contact with the relics and 5 thousand litres of water from Lourdes were distributed. (EPC)
