The teacher had shown cartoons of Muhammad in class. A parent had lodged complains.

Newsroom (October 16, 2020, Gaudium Press) — A teacher was beheaded today in Coflans-Sainte Honorine, a suburb in the northwest of Paris. The attack took place at about 5 pm French time. The teacher – who had already received death threats – had shown some cartoons of Mohammed in class. One of the parents of his students had complained about it.

The murderer posted on Twitter a photo with the head of his victim, and the message: “In the name of Allah, I have executed one of those dogs from hell that dared to mock Muhammad.”

Located by police, he was shot while confronting the officers with a knife.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has already made a statement about the event. He called it an “Islamist terrorist attack.” He visited the scene of the crime, expressing that “the whole nation” was ready to defend the teachers.

The site of the murder is located only a few meters away from the Bois d’Aulne school, where the educator was teaching. The incident occurs only three weeks after a man attacked two people outside of Charlie Hebdo magazine’s former offices. There, in 2015, jihadists targeted some members of its editorial staff.
