Today, December 17, the Church begins the recitation of the O Antiphons, a collection of short prayers addressed to the Child Jesus on the week leading up to Christmas.

Newsroom (17/12/2021 1:45 PM, Gaudium Press): An ancient tradition of the Church is the recitation of the seven antiphons of the O. Enclosed the first antiphon of the series, Humanity’s supplications to its Saviour:

English: O Wisdom,

O holy Word of God,

you govern all creation

with your strong yet tender care:

Come and show your people the way to salvation.
