Newsroom (01/07/2022 12:50 PM, Gaudium Press) The traditional General Audiences that Pope Francis holds with the faithful in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesdays will be suspended for July.
General Audiences to resume in August
The Holy See Press Office reported that the reason for this one-month break is the usual summer holiday on the European continent. The suspension of the General Audiences also occurred in previous years.
Pope Francis’ catecheses are scheduled to return on the first Wednesday of August, the 3rd. During this period, the Pontiff will continue to participate in reciting the Marian prayer of the Angelus on Sundays at the Apostolic Palace.
Pope Francis’ schedule for July
Despite this suspended weekly appointment, Francis has some official activities on his schedule during this period, including private audiences at the Vatican and a Holy Mass with the Congolese community in Rome on Sunday, July 3.
Also, in the month of July, between the 24th and 30th, Pope Francis is scheduled to make an apostolic trip to Canada. The Catholic Church in the country is working on a reconciliation process with the indigenous peoples. (EPC)
